Sig P226

I just bought one this Summer. Reason #1 I like the 357 Sig Round. Reason #2 Always wanted a P226 #3 It was a CPO and was affordable at $550 OTD. (Dealer had listed for $575 +tax. I've helped him out before...) Certified Pre Owned are guns that are SIG factory certified and sold for less $. THIS made it a great deal and mine looked NEW to boot.
Not sure what a privately owned, used one would run but my guess would be $650-$800 ish. Condition would play a big part, but I doubt you could ever wear one out.

I believe that price is optimistic, at least where I live. I have had the above Sig P226 .40 S&W with three mags and holster for sale ($525.00) or trade (9mm/.357 Sig pistol) on a local forum and gotten NO serious offers. My gun is no beater either, it may be the caliber that has made it slow to move. Only the 9mm pistols move around here unless you give it away. I have gotten some nice rifle offers, but I do not need or want any rifles at the moment.
I am not buried in this Sig and do not dislike it, I just prefer another caliber. My gun was made in 1998, your's is a little older.

I really haven't seen many for sale in my area. So was just throwing a price check out there.

Link sent. I blew your photos up on the IPAD and must apologize, mine is older than yours, but both were made in 1998. I mistook a "9" for a "0" in your serial number.
I've owned several Sig 226 in the past and had great service out of all of them. As a carry weapon they are a bit large, IMO. I discovered the Sig 228 and sold my 226's.
Local pawn shop here had a 1993 CPO 226 for $599.00 and they are one of the higher priced shops in town.

CDNN has several used 226s, mostly in 40 caliber in the $450-550 range. I'd say that's about what they sell for. But, and It's a big but...... While I absolutely love the 357 Sig, and have several guns in this great caliber, not everyone shares this opinion. In my experience it's harder to sell 357 Sig anything for top dollar. I've heard it all from; ammo is too expensive, hard to reload, hard to find, dying caliber, etc..... That has been my experience anyways. A 357 Sig 226 DAK is in my duty pistol lineup. It is extremely accurate and 100% reliable, and has been for several years.

Back when the SIG 226 first became available in .40 S&W, they became issue. We had the opportunity to buy another at cost, so I did. It sat in the box, unfired for years; so long the night sights no longer glowed. I decided to sell it last year as I never used it. It sat on GB for 2 weeks at minimum bid of $500 before someone purchased it for the minimum. There are a lot of SIG's on the market now, and it has brought the prices down.

Yours is a from the mid 90s or so. frames were still being imported from Germany but thd slides were being manufactured here. There are a few in one lgs, they typically go for $450

The P226 is one of the more desirable Sigs IMO. Most of the lightly used Sigs I see are somewhere in the $600 to $700 range. The P226 has a longer sighting plane and a reputation for being highly accurate. For many Sig fanatics, that makes the P226 a highly prized handgun. You might try to sell it on the SIG Talk forum.

Sig had some major hiccups between 2004 and 2012. They have been getting better. There was a time when most departments along with the secret service dropped them for major QC issues.

I have two Sig p226's one in 9mm and one in 40 S&W. I like them both and they are excellent shooters. I have the 357 Sig barrel for the 40 S&W P226 and I use it once in a while. I happen to be a person who likes the 40 S&W cartridge because as a cartridge reloader they use small pistol primers, not a lot of powder and push a bullet at near 45 ACP velocities.

That's a mint P226 and the factory grips are worth over $100 so that's a great deal.

i also have a sig 228 9 mm and can use my mags for the 226 just sticks out the bottom about that inch but use those as extra mags to carry
