Sig P250

Hey guys,

For those of you with experience in third gen DAO pistols, do any of you have any experience with Sigs P250 DAO pistol and can compare the triggers? I've recently spent some time reading up on these and relative to their triggers, people seem to love or loathe them, the most common feedback for each are "smooth" but "long". I find their modularity and engineering (particularly with the 2Sum packages) interesting, and I'm looking for sub-compact. My current carry is a 4043, but I'm looking for something smaller and this popped on my radar. Thanks, BM

I had one a couple of years ago, and never really warmed up to it. I don't recall the trigger being any better or worse than a 3913 or 908 (my only S&W 3rd Gens for reference) but I didn't like the DAO action.

You might want to take a look at a SP2022...it is a DA/SA with a decocker, and it is inexpensive for a SIG (usually under $400.) I wouldn't consider it as a sub-compact, though.

my buddy has one, nice gun. i put a micro max laser on it for him, i wasn't using the laser so i gave it to him. he wants to lighten the trigger on it, i suggested not messing with the trigger. dao, long but smooth. its not a target pistol. it is what it is.

Sig p250 is smoother and requires less force to actuate than the DA 1st shot of my 1006. Only issue with the p250 IME is finding spare mags. Even with www access they are not plentiful.

I have the P250 in 45acp fullsize and compact.

Great trigger, about 1000 rounds each and no problems.

Im a big DAO revolver shooter and love the P250 .

The P 250 will grow on you if you give it a chance,
it is a fantastic weapon.

You can order mags from sig or top gun supply,

The more you shoot it the more you will love it.

I have the P250 9mm in compact and subcompact. Yes what people say about the trigger having a smooth DA feel is true. Once you get used to it, you will enjoy it. Plus the interchangabilty between sizes is great. For under $400 it's a great buy. As for the mags, yes they are a bit pricey. Top Gun Supply has the best deal on them and excellent service.

Agreed, I like mine - have compact and subcompact frames. Trigger is ok I like the consistancy of DAO for a carry gun.

I handled one yesterday at the LGS. I was very impressed with the smooth DAO trigger.
Trigger is as good as my CZ VZ82, Even better than the DA on my worked Model 681.
I wish my 3913 had as good a trigger.
As was said, not target guns, but superb for defensive use.

I have 3rd gen S&W's, 2 SP2022's, S&W revolvers, and numerous P series Sigs as well as (2) P250 c's and a conversion to .40 SC....trigger is smooth, as smooth as any dao or revolver I have ever had or shot. It is just long and for me it was easy to adapt to.....they are surprisingly accurate in both sizes, and the prices have dropped to about 369.at Summit and BGS......they also have a lifetime warranty...love mine and mags are now plentiful too.

I haven't yet shot a P250 but I have handled and dryfired them.

I do happen to own 10 S&W revolvers and the P250 trigger feels just like them ONLY LIGHTER.

Since I'm used to DA revolvers I LIKE IT and plan on getting a P250 ,
haven't made up my ming what size or caliber yet.

I'm an old double action revolver guy from my days on the police force in the 1970's. The SIG p250 is like a high capacity revolver. Love the trigger and the feel of the gun in my hand. Both my 9mm and 45 are compact frames. Still love my Smith revolvers but my p250s see a lot of range time.

For what its worth I have a DAO Sig that I bought to replace a DA/SA Sig. I bought it because I was tired of qualifying with the DA/SA because most courses would be 2-3 shots and with the long first shot and short second I felt that I could not get a consistent trigger pull/feel. I enjoyed the trigger pull on the DAO until I started doing rapid fire steel targets and a tactical pistol course. It becomes a very, very, very long trigger pull. Man my finger hurt for a while.

If your goal is accuracy go for it. If your frequently doing tons of rounds I would do the DA/SA.

I have one in .45 and it is quickly becoming a favorite carry gun. 9 plus 1 rounds in the compact version, and as previously stated it seems a natural for someone used to shooting a double action revolver.

I have two, one for the 9mm and 40 and one for the 45. I can't say any thing that hasn't already been said. Great pistol at a great price. I actually prefer it for carry over my SD.

I have been thinking about a sub-compact P250 in 9mm, only one localy is chambered in .40 nice to hear good things about them

More good responses! My sense is that the trigger pull is slightly longer than that of my S&W 4043/4, but much smoother. I've gotten used to the 4043, but as I get older and the summers here in FL seem to feel like they last darn near forever, the slightly lighter weight of the compact/sub-compacts appeal to me. I'm looking forward to lighter weight next summer.
