Sig Sauer 1911-22

I removed the back strap and now cannot get it all the way back on. Something stops it. Any ideas? Thank you

If its made like a normal 1911, it could just be the hammer strut hitting the edge of the mainspring housing. Sometimes those things can be hard to get centered up on the mainspring cap.
Try shaking it around a bit or inserting it with the barrel pointed up.

They aren't actually 1911's. They're blowbacks

Dig Sauer doesn't build them, they just brand them.

I'm well aware of that. I have a Walther made Colt 1911. While the barrel and recoil system are blowback, the entire trigger mechanism is pure 1911. It'll even take standard 1911 parts.
Not sure who makes Sig's 1911 .22s, but its probably made the same way.

Sig 1911

GSG is now making the style Sig 1911. I believe they were contracted to make up a batch of the Sig 1911 as a promotional deal a good number years ago, with Sig eventually selling off the rights to GSG? I think I read about this a few years back.

I do not consider myself an expert on this matter as I can be totally wrong. i'm sure somebody else will come along and make corrections if I am. Again, I only briefly read something to this.

They are a rebranded GSG-1911...........I have one.(GSG) Fun gun. Put +4 magazine followers in my mags so they hold 14 rds. With one in the spout it's a 15 shooter....Never had any problems with mine.

Try to find a schematic online and study the parts.
There might be a boob tube reassembly video to be found as well.

If you need springs or other parts contact GSG importer. I talked to Sig at Shot Show a few years ago and Sig rep said Sig does not have parts and he did not know how to get them.
I found GSG on web and ordered springs.
