Sight for 627-2 for USPSA

For shooting iron sights, focus is on sights. Shooting red dot, focus is on target. I wear 2 different corrections, depending on which type of sight I'm using at the time. I have contact lenses and plain shooting glasses (no correction) for red dot and contacts and 1.0 diopter correction shooting glasses for iron sights. Be sure to wear some kind of eye protection at all times when shooting.

Going back over your advise, I found you said the target should be blurry, sights clear, focusing only on sights. Immediately this hits me as I've done the opposite, wearing distance assisting glasses, seeing the sights blurry, target clearly, lining up, shooting, then repeating.
This is such a basic concept that I haven't been aware of.
I'm taking the glasses off next time!

I wear contact lenses when shooting. I am lucky that my standard distance lenses (I am slightly short sighted with astigmatism. Neither of my eyes individually is legal to drive but both together are) let me focus clearly on my front sights.
