Sights for my M&P 40 C

Hi guys and gals...I'm new here and this is my first post. I am the happy owner of the above and I am looking for recommendations for sights (trijicon) and lasers / lights to add to the gun. I would appreciate all the help anyone is willing to send my way with suggestions or considerations, etc.

I have the safety that is on both sides of the frame so the Crimson Trace is unfortunately out of the equation from what their web site indicates.

Night Sights

I have the Trijicons on my 40c, I think ther're perfect. I think lasers distract from using and getting comfortable with the regular sights, just my opinion. Also some of the guys at the range with the extra large Trijicon front sight say it covers up the target at any distance, so I'd stick with the regular size front sight, again just my opinion. Enjoy your new 40c, I have over 2000 rounds through mine maybe 3K rounds. Not one problem, it is my main conceal carry and shoots outstanding.

I just ordered the Trijicon's based on your suggestion. I got yellow back and green front as I have all green on a Beretta Cougar and sometimes have trouble quickly figuring out the front site.

I have the trijicon night sights on my 40c and to tell you the truth I kind of don't like them. reason is the front and back sights are so similiar that when focusing on the target they blend and you can't, or I can't, tell 100% if the front is in line when I foreground my sights and the target is my main focus. In total darkness they are GREAT. now trijicon has made there HD night sights that solve this i have described. the front sight has a bigger white ring around the nuclear glow, which makes it better to find your sights, in daylight, when they are in your foreground and the target is your focus. check em out. I am looking for the front to be sold seperate for the HD's.

If your having trouble with the same colors blending in maybe try a different color front sight as Seeking Coyotes is. Sounds like a great option it's all just personal preference, do what works for you. I do a lot of night training in the dark dark of night and mine are all green get my sight alignment fine. But remember do what works for YOU! Not someone else. Oh ya, lights I use a Surefire hand held light. A Combat G2Z or something similar 80 to 100 lumens for indoor stuff and 150 to 200 lumens for outdoor stuff, I feel there's more use options with a hand held vs. a fixed mounted on the gun, again just my own opinion.

Let me suggest that you check out the TFO (tritium fibre optic) sights. I am planning the purchase of a 40C in the near future, and plan on going with the TFO's.

Trijicons

My Trijicons look just like that, same low profile shape, green. Look like the same sights. Yes, very nice!

I have the Laserlyte laser on my M&P it will work with you thumb safety as it replaces the rear sight.

I have these (the Operators, green/yellow) on all my M&P's, and absolutely love them:

The rear lamps are a bit smaller, so they let the front sight really stand out, yet they're there if & when you need them.

For the complaint about the trijicon rear sight lamps over-powering the front sight, try taking a Sharpie brand magic marker and blacking them out. They'll still shine through, but it will dull them. It lasts a long time, or you can wipe it off any time you want. Cheaper than new sights!

I have Trijicon night sights, and Truglo TFO's In all green and also with the green in front, yellow rear setup.

Overall, the Truglo TFOs seem much, much better to me. They're easier for my eyes to pick up on, level and shoot. I liked my first Truglo TFO's in all green, but thinking there'd be greater contrast, I had green front and yellow rears put on my 40c.

The yellow doesn't seem half as bright as the green and I'll go with green front and back in the future.

The Trijicons are very fine sights and if I was offered a fantastic price on a great gun with them already installed, I'd buy it and not spend extra for the Truglo TFOs and installation.

But if I could have either Tijicon OR Truglo TFO's, I'd go Truglo and all green if possible.

I have red read and green front fiber optics on my S&W M&P 40c. I practice with these sights at the range with my Crimson Trace laser turned off . I will shoot a few times using the laser making sure that it is "sighted in." When I carry I have the laser turned on (it will not be "on" until I squeeze the grip).

The laser makes me far more accurate and that is what I want to be when carrying.

I saw some a week ago online, but can not find them now, that have a diamond shape painted mark around the Trijicon insert on all 3 trijicon inserts. They look like they would work. just saw and thought they were interesting.
