Curious as to who is making replacement sights for the Shield. Not interested in X-S.

Also, any updates on APEX carry kit for the Shield ? Their site has not been updated.

I will have mine in my sweaty hands after the first week in July - in Maryland, we have to wait for them to be on the approved roster, which will be July 1.

Actually another question - are the dimensions of the Shield sights the same as regular size M&Ps ? (Probably not, but you never know).

The front sight is the same, or at least I am using an M&P fiberoptic from Dawson and its right on, the rear is narrower but I believe is the same height.

Everything in the Apex DCAEK for the M&P 9/40 is the same for the Shield with the exception of the slave pin (included tool used to help install the new trigger spring) since the trigger is different. You can use a pin punch as a substitute for the slave pin.

I put a set of Trijicon HD NS SA137O for an M&P on my Shield. Some filing of the base of the front sight was required and the rear sights are an RCH wider than the slide. It's not noticeable to me unless I run my finger past the side of them. No one said anything the other day when about a dozen people at the LGS were taking a look at the Shield (mine) for the first time -- other than really liking the sights.

If you read through the Shield posts you'll find some posts covering this including info from Apex when they tested individual components and the DCAEK also on the Shield.

Most sights that fit the compact will fit the shield though they may be a little wider than the dovetail. The extra width is very small and will not interfere with draw and they dont snag at all. Some filing may be required.

If you're interested in night sights for the Shield, I just put on and I think a few others did already, Trijicon SA37. They are made for full size M&P, but they fit perfectly and super bright , well to me they were. I haven't had a chance to take pics of mine, but I know someone else here in S&W forum also had them installed. Here's a link to that thread.......

You are right my SA37's are the brightest sights I have ever had.
