I know at one time there was a .380 Sigma, but I was just thinking about how great it would be if we had a SD9c. I know the M&P has a compact 9 but I would buy a DAO compact 9 in a heartbeat. I love my SW40VE and my Ruger SR9c. The Ruger LC9 is DAO hammer fired and I like the striker fired guns. Even Kahr has the CW9. Just a thought.

the 4inch barrel of the sigma is smallish. ezer to conceal then a 1911 that's for sure, but still a tad bulky and leaves a nice print even in my baggy sweatpants while lounging around the house. I just don't see S&W putting that sort of money into the sigma line. or even the SD considering like you said the m&p has the compact already. I don't know how safe id feel carrying anything concealed w/o a safety either. That being said I enjoy my sigma very much and has never let me down with any of the junk Ive fed it. All tho I do feel the m&p has the edge on a concealed combat type pistol.

I think the Sigma is a good entry level gun. I don't think it's the gun for a small compact SD gun.

A range or plinking gun is it's purpose. It's size is doable, maybe not the best, for CCW work. Just a good solid platform where it is.
