Recently purchased a used SW40VE. Extraction fine cycling rounds manually, but firing another story. Spent cartridges (perhaps 4 of 5 rounds fired) remained in chamber. Gun store where purchased returning to S&W for warranty repair. Other than that, liked the weapon. Great ergonomics, less felt kick than my Glock G23, but needs that 100% reliabilty of action. Will post here results of repair work. Cheers

Are you shooting reloads or remanufactured ammunition?
Ive had zero FTE/FTF in 1800 rounds with factory ammo.

Probably the extractor key, if the tip breaks off it wont pull them out. S&W will take care of it and go through the rest of the pistol I am sure.

I shoot reloads in my sw40ve no problems at all.So its not an ammo problem.

Thanks for the replies, and I currently only shoot Remington, Winchester, and Hornady ammo in any of my pistols.

Received Sigma from S&W after three week turnaround. They replaced extractor, repaired barrel (which I assume means boring out chamber a wee bit to ease extraction), and without being asked - replaced my beat-up rear sight. Great customer service: will report back after firing tests.

Just returned from firing the repaired SW40VE - happy to report that all is well with this pistol. What a deal: $219 for the gun; $17 for a second magazine - and $10 postage to S&W for the warranty repairs.

Where did you find the 2nd mag for 17.00?

I posted on this site that I was looking to buy a slightly used SW40VE mag. and a member contacted me. I also posted on Glock Talk, and the same seller saw it there. So ask in many places - there is usually someone with something to sell. Good Luck
