How you know the Sigma reputation is improving.

In January of 2008 you could by a SW9VE with 2 magazines for $199 + $50 Rebate + 2 additional magazines. Total $149 with 4 magazines.

The cheapest Ive seen it lately is $299 with 2 magazines + a choice of the the $50 rebate or two additional magazines. Total $299 with 4 magazines.

Double the price in 3 years.

I like your positive attitude, but I've liked my Sigma since I bought it.

You don't think the price has increased due to the rise in petroleum price? I think the polymer frame takes a bit of that in it's manufacture.

My $0.02 is the sales price will be 'whatever the market will bear' and when any goods, such as automobiles and our pet Sigmas, are not selling well prices are lowered and rebates are offered to bring sales back up. Later, when sales pick up, the rebates end and the prices creep back up.

So, yes, any improving reputation enjoyed by the Sigma may result in higher sales volumes and thus allow prices to rise.

Interesting topic: I've been watching for years, long before I bought mine.

I notice in forum after forum the following: More and more people are standing up and saying, "nothing wrong with my sigma", "I shoot mine very well", "this is the most natural pointer" etc. etc. etc.

Also, the bashers are getting called out on the carpet for what they really are, more and more each day! That's my favorite part of this.

I've said all along, the sigma is what it is. It's that simple. The gun is not for everyone, and that's fine, but neither is any other gun out there.

If you like the sigma, great, if not, great too! It's not my favorite gun, but I have lots of fun with it, and zero malfunctions.

But if you just can't shoot the sigma, don't show up on the internet and tell me it's the gun, because it isn't!

I agree with Lee. Had my Sigma 9mm at the range Saturday. Accuracy is awesome!! :D

Enjoy reading about the Sigma!! VAMOS!!

I've never seen the Sigma for 199.00. I paid 299.00 with 4 mags 8-9 years ago. You can find them cheaper than that if you try hard to find them. 4 years ago I saw them in the 359.00 range with no rebate.

But your right. The Sigma is gaining a good rep. To bad I think it will get replaced by the SD. On the other hand, the SD looks like a great gun. Most likely the SD would be the one I would buy if I was looking anyway.

Have to agree, the cheapest new VE I ever saw was $299 w/2 free mags. I bought an AF SW9VE at that price and that was the best price I ever saw for a new Sigma. The original F series Sigma wasn't cheap. I just bought a new Ruger SR9. Great gun for a great price. And I own 3 other pistols, but I don't see myself parting with my 40VE that I bought used for $189.00 All nonsense aside, the Sigma is a great pistol for the money. I'll keep mine. Check Hoffman's Gun Store website, in Newington, CT. I just bought a brand new SR9 for ($317.00 O-T-D) $299 (17+1 2 mags O.D.) This is the only gun I've encountered that I would consider a better deal than a Sigma for that kind of money.

Missed the rebate on mine but only had to pay $279. Love mine, brag on it all the time, and think its revolver simple. Shoots minute of shirt pocket.

If it were all black I'd be even happier.

If I see anyone shooting a Sigma on AMCs WALKING DEAD your gonna hear me give a rebel yell. ;)

The $199 was the lowest price I saw advertised. It was a large sporting chain and at the time it was rumored the Sigma had been discontinued and they had bough the remaining stocks. I think they might have got a deal on what S&W had overflowing the warehouse.

My local dealer seems to move them at $299 at a rapid rate and often the customer doesnt know about the rebate offer until after the sale.

Supposedly the S&W product plan calls for 3 levels of the polymer pistol. I assume that means the Sigma is safe until the next new polymer pistol is introduced.

I agree, it is improving

I got my sigma from a shop about 30 miles from my house. During my 3 day wait to get my first s&w i went to my local shop and talk to a guy that normally helps me. I played stupid and asked to see a sigma and asked about it....he had very positive things to say about it. very reliable, says he sells
alot of them and has never had any problems with them. This guy is my friend and wouldnt lie to get me to buy it. Just the normal trigger pull concern. But like he said, it is a gun, be a man and pull the freaking trigger lol. He said if starting shooting it you wont know any difference after awhile. Also a customer that was in there had good things to say along with
another guy that works there. I was surprised to hear all the good things since there is alot of internet bashing going on. I got because it felt really good in my hand. Better than my glock. Ive since put 300 rds in it and it is very nice. no problems. It will be my 9mm for a long time, no need to get another if it continues to be this nice. I love it!!!

also......

My plans on getting a 9mm glock 19 are out the door. No need now. My sigma is the same size. Now i can focus on getting my 1st revolver......has to be a S&W! lol
