I just got my sigma 40 cal. I did a field strip, put it back together, noticed that the rear slide and the plastic grooves (in rear) have a gap of about 1/4" when assembled. I really did'nt notice before that the gaps are there. I't funtions normally so I'm sure I put it back right. Please advise. A picture of the rear of the gun would help. I just want to make sure I did'nt break something. Thanks

I think that is normal if you are talking
about looking directly towards the rear.
Mine has a pretty good gap in the center,
and a slightly bigger one on the right side
due to the plastic rail being lower on that
side. The end cap of the slide has equal
gaps, but the rails on the frame are unequal
height. So a bigger gap on the right side.

Yes, it's about an 1/8". I thank you for the info. I just kind of drew a blank on the visual of the rear end of the pistol and didn't notice what it looked like before I field stripped it. I have sence saw a close-up of the rear and it looks normal. So thanks again!

Is this what you are looking for?

That's real close. Some notches are alittle different, is your a SigmaVE? Thanks

Yes it is, although it's a 9VE. I thought the same thing as you did that I lost something re-assembling it. I went back to the dealer and looked at others both 9 & 40 and they were the same. I didn't notice this until about a week after I bought the gun...

It's good to know that I'm not the only one that had this situation. I'm taking it the range tomorrow and see what it can do, I'll let you know how I do. Cheers
