Hey all, Just picked this up tonight and hope you all can answer some questions. First How can i tell how old this pistol is. Also i own a Beretta 96 .40 cal. And i can switch slides so i can run the 9mm setup. I was wondering if this can also be done with the sigmas also. is there any other mags that fit this gun. This one only came with only 1 10rd mag and i need more. Any help would be appreciated.

If you want to run 9mm just buy a sw9ve they don't interchange like you think they would. As for other mag you can get sw40f 15 round mags from midway.

Yes you can switch out the barrel and fire 9mm. you don't need to switch mags. Some will tell you that you can't but I have so don't listen. mDid you get a ve or what modle. most of us here own the newer sw40ve or the sw9ve.

Took it to the range for some fun. Loaded one round to check. Using the blazer 165 tmj 1rd to be safe. Racked then fired shot 2" high from poa. Loaded 5 and continued, 3 shots then jam. Bullet nosed into the feed ramp. Thought maybe a quirk. Loaded 5 more the same thing happened. So i next loaded some 175swc same thing. It seems that the last two rds won't feed from the mag. Accuracy was good. could this be a weak mag spring? Also some glock guys were there and i noticed the slide to frame space on theirs were pretty tight. On mine you can see quite abit of daylight thru it. Is that normal. Anyways i do like the way this gun points and had a blast with it. Just need to clear up this jam issue.

I would NOT try and put 9mm barrel in a 40 frame, it will fit almost but the 9mm barrel is just a tad thinner than the 40cal you will have some play with the 9mm barrel in the 40cal frame this is not safe at all it may work once or a 1000 times but all it takes is just once to blow up.

+1. I know a guy who is missing an index finger trying because he was trying to mix and match gun parts. And he was lucky to have only lost a finger.

Did you clean the gun before you took it out? It's a good idea to do this to get the factory grease and gunk out before first time out. Clean it out real good and try again, and if that didn't help. Sounds like you may want to call S&W lots of people use blazer ammo here with no problem.

Looked it over real good. This gun was well taken care of. Swapped out the mag spring from a Beretta 92 mag this morning. Hit the range and no more jams. I think i am going to like the gun. Trigger seems good, gun points really nice. Now i need to get some more mags.
