So, Herco has been a favorite of mine for med range .357 loads and warmer .38sp, using a 158gr swc. Silhouette has been my go-to for 9 mm, shooting a Zero 125gr jhp. Both powders are capable of handling all of it, plus .45acp if I want them to. Any reason y'all can give for kicking one to the curb?

I have always wanted to try Herco but a lot of the data stated that magnum primers were called for and almost the same amout of Unique gave the same velositys w/o a mag primer, so I never did get around to getting some to try out in my pistol loads. Being old school it was Unique or BlueDot.

Not too many post on this powder so it is either a "Don't tell anyone" or maybe "Better powders out there"...........

Good shooting.

I like Herco and have gotten good use from it without magnum primers. It seem that anymore, I'll go to it before I try Unique as I get a tad more velocity.

Herco works great in the 9x19.
Silhouette is much more my "go-to" powder. Great accuracy at near max loads in many cartridges.
