Silver Bullion

not $14 for long

Silver does not come out of the ground very easy. Mostly today its a by product of other mining metals. Takes a lot of energy ($$$) to get it to the .999 purity.

Silver spot price dipped below $14 this morning. Just above $14.00 now. Good time to buy, although the on-line sellers are tacking on a $4.00 premium for Eagles. Can buy a one ounce bar about .75 cents over spot.

Years ago I studied copper refining for a commodities class. Copper is refined by electrolysis in a tank of liquid. The pure copper collects on the electrode and what falls to the bottom of the tank can contain gold and silver. The recovery of the gold and silver can pay for the power used to refine the copper.
