I've had this one since 2006 and never fired it until yesterday. 20gr of Hodgdon Triple Seven under a 240gr .430 dia SWC for my load. Point shooting from about 12-3 feet just cocking and firing from hip level. As barrel leaded the bullets started to go sideways. Rifling is still there in the old gal and I had that barrel pretty warm after 24 quick shots.
Too bad it was nickeled at some point. It does have real Ivory grips. I bought it from a friend whose father was a Madison Heights Michigan Detective and traded a storekeeper a snub nosed 38 for this gun.
After the first cylinder, the mosquitos went away. The last picture is my range more that 5 minutes after I was done shooting. One can only imagine what a civil war battlefield looks like in full engagement without a strong breeze. Serial number 157548 was shipped July 14th 1894.
