I stumbled onto something the other day... I'm a relative newcomer here so maybe everyone already knows this. I discovered that the 7/8 14tpi fittings on my powder measure bracket threaded directly onto a 1/2" black pipe nipple. I used a floor flange and a 6" nipple and made a rock solid powder measure stand for about $6. Just thought I'd share.

Two great ideas I just got from the post. The tool box bottom as a relaoding area and the 1/2 nipple. Thanks

paint it RCBS green

I did in 1963, while still in undergraduate school.

The stand is a cut off "Cop", which was a metal officer image used in the 50's at school crossings. He had his hand raised, and school crossing lettered on it. Found it in a junk yard, and paid $ 5 for it.

I had a welder cut it off, at the appropriate height, weld on a supporting plate, drilled it for my RCBS Jr. Mounted the powder measure kinda like the above poster did.

I've use it constantly for 47 years, moved most recently in 2009, as I moved in a replacement house, after the Feb. 08 tornado destroyed my old home.

Great idea, I would have never even given it a thought.
I still like my factory stand becasue I have two measures mounted on it, but I'm going to keep that fact in mind.

I wonder how many people use that bracket to mount their measure to the press like it was intended?

Good idea! Loosen the locking nut and the measure can be moved out of the way to create more space.

Thanks for the comments. Where do I find RCBS green. I checked their site and didn't see anything.
