simple cell phone advice

As Tom S. said....better take some steps to try a smart phone cause at some point you may not have a choice. Smart phones usage can be basic or you can launch the space shuttle from the thing.

Need to stay up with a little technology....go to run and try and figure out how to set the time on my VCR! :)

have an at&t rugby 3 flip phone . from what they tell me , this phone or any other basic phone is no longer available from at&t. mine is starting to act up ... long story . a call to the at&t help line proved to be of no help .
i have unlimited text & talk minutes ( at about $58 a month ) that is all i desire & need !
should i try going to wal mart to obtain the more basic type phone that i desire ? or ? open to suggestions . i worry about the learning curve on a new phone and of course the $ outlay also ! but bottom line i dont need the internet on my phone or countless other things i may never use .
people who are using basic phones like mine would be good to hear from .
i did go to wal mart a few years back , when i was with an other carrier and i had a simple phone somewhat like the one i have now and went with their version of my phone , to save apprx $20 a month . their phone seemed MUCH harder to navigate so i took it back and went back to my old set up . switched carrier shortly after that .
appreciate you knowledge and thanks in advance !

If you are just needing a phone and wanting to just switch phones and not carriers I have an Android smart phone (Alcatel One Touch Idol 3 that is a little over a year old that I will give you. It will only work on AT&T or T-Mobile or WalMart Family mobile, i.e. GSM carriers but not CDMA carriers like Verizon, Sprint, Virgin. My E-mail is in my profile.

I have a Tracfone flipper, cost 19.99. Every 90 days I add a $20 top-up fee, I never use more than what's on the last top-up, so the minutes keep accumulating. Never had a coverage issue.

We switched to 4 smart Tracfones vs. 3 Verizon flip phones and 1 verizon smart phone and are saving about $150/month. AND Tracfone in our area uses the Verizon network which is the best in our area.

You need to know how much time you use a month.
On a shelf, I have a Moto G, it is a good phone.
Can only be used on Verizon (best service around here) pre-paid plan, $35 a month.
A great phone and plan, But I don't use that much!
I was doing about 35 'events' a month. Each time I used that phone costs me a $1!
Now on ATT (second best network round here) prepaid GoPhone.
Just like in a previous post, I buy $25 of time good for 3 months.
I use about $10 worth a month.
Today I have a $36 balance, expires 15 Feb.
If I use a lot and need more, I'll just go online and buy another $25 of time.
