For you Sinatra fans out there (there have to be some) with a Netflix subscription, you might want to watch "Sinatra: All or Nothing at All" currently running, four hours. Perhaps the best documentary I have ever seen, peppered full of many of the old Sinatra standards.

Technically, it's a Netflix series - two 2-hour episodes. I think it is new, the first time I saw it on the lineup was last week.

Nancy's still alive, but it's not apparent what she is doing at present. Probably not much as she is 80. Frank Jr. died in 2016.

The documentary is built around Sinatra's famous 1971 Hollywood farewell concert (which wasn't really his last concert, as he returned to the stage a couple of years later) in which he performed 11 of his trademark songs which he selected to symbolize the different stages of his life and career. It stops around the time he married Barbara Marx, in the late 1970s, even though Frank Sr. died in 1998.

Sinatra was still touring and performing until a couple of years before he died. I saw him at the Dallas Music Hall in the mid-'90s. What a show; best concert ever. "Nothing new" as he promised at the opening - just the old material which is what everyone wanted to hear anyway.

I always thought that if there was such a thing as reincarnation, I would have liked to come back as Frank Sinatra. Having fun with the Hollywood crowd and all my buddies were made men.

Growing up in Philly I was fortunate to get to listen to “Friday with Frank” and “Sunday with Sinatra”, radio shows dedicated to the legendary “Mr. S”. The host was, and is, the incomparable Sid Mark, who has been playing the works of Frank Sinatra for 65 years. Sid has cut back some, he’s 86 now, but he still hosts “Sunday with Sinatra”. Before he died Frank Jr was a frequent guest of the program.

I don’t think there’s any Sinatra song I dislike. The ballads, his work with Jobim, even “High Hopes”, they’re all good.

Love his singing but really don't like what I've heard and read about the man and his personality. Won't stop me from enjoying his music however

He did have a brutal personality, and hung out with the mob. And also the Kennedys. The documentary covered all that, and also that his last wife, Barbara Marx, didn't put up with his BS, and that he was actually afraid of her. One of the strangest stories was his brief marriage to Mia Farrow, who was about half his age. He was extremely controlling and had a real problem with her acting career. While she was working on the set of "Rosemary's Baby" he had his lawyer deliver divorce papers to her. She had no idea the papers were coming. That was all because he wanted her to stop and come work with him on another movie project, even though she legally couldn't quit and walk out.

Thanks for the tip. I have seen this movie in my suggestions but have been waiting to watch it. Sounds like a good opportunity to bring out the Jack Daniel's and Camel cigarettes and give it a watch.

Speaking of Jack Daniel's, they now make a Sinatra Select blend. I have yet to try it, as it cost well over $100 a bottle. It sounds nice, but at the same time it seems Sinatra was quite happy with the standard black Jack.
