New guy here with a hopefully simple question. Did S&W ever make a single stack (thin) 9mm. What I'm wanting is a 469 single stack for CCW. Thanks for any help.

3914 in blue, 3913 in stainless. Those were the compacts.

3904, 3906, and 909 were the full size single stack 9mm's.

Also the Chief's Special 9mm in blue and stainless. The sub compact single stack 9mm. Regards 18DAI.

Yup.

Look for a 908.

Here's mine (908S) which has been customized a bit with the addtition of a longer barrel and slide from a 910S, Hogue Stocks and Nite Sites.

I carry it everyday.

Other models such as the 3913 series would fill the bill...

Just wanted to tell Drew that I like his customized gun.

Oh, MackTech, you might also want to look at the CS9. Wait, John already said that. :) Well, the 3913 is certainly well regarded by many authorities; it's what I recommended my brother buy a few years back, and he's happy as a clam.

Thanks for the quick replys, will check thoses models out! Just would feel safer with a thumb/slide safety than my G26. I have way to many kids (10 year olds and younger) in and out of my house all hours of the day and night. Every thing is locked in the gun room but my CCW piece and it is mostly on me but there are times when I have it off for a few moments of the day.

I'd suggest you get in the habit of dropping the mag out when you "have it off for a few moments.." Put the mag in your pocket.

The mag safety will make your single stack 9mm S&W a paper weight.

Of course I don't advocate leaving a gun unattended in any circumstance. It only takes a moment to place it in the safe.

I've also witnessed that it takes the same moment to ruin lives and fill one with terrible regret. Regards 18DAI.

Hermano!

I wish I could say that I put this togeather, but it was David "Shortranger" that did and he was kind enough to trade it to me... Actually the story that Shorty tells is that my gun is a bi-product of his conversion of a 910S Hi-Cap Frame and the shorter 908S slide.

No matter, I love this gun dearly and loaded with Speer 124 Grain +P Gold Dots, it speaks with some authority. I can shoot this gun much better and feel more confident while carrying it over the PPK .380 it replaced.

It's a damn shame that S&W has discontinued the 908/908S series as well as the 3900 compacts...

The mag saftey is another good feature I forgot about, My retired KSP friend said when he had the S&W 10mm they told him if he got in a struggle for his gun, he could hit the mag release and let the bad guy have the gun then go for his back up gun. He never had to do it though. Dont know how true that was but that's what he told me. He had 2 KSP 10mm's when he retired but had to sell the both due to a bad divorce, very sad:(

908 all the way.

I think they just quit making them this year. Last of the Gen 3's to go, right?

3953 and 3954. So-called "slick side 9's". DAO and
no decocker. Like a revolver, the safety's in your head. Very slim.

Single stack 9mm

Sir,
I have a SW 3914 for sale here in Classified. Single stack , blue

3 mags front NS. Thank you

When buying magazines, I'd suggest factory or maybe Mecgars. There may be some other brands, but I can't think of any good ones. USA brand is pretty much junk, I haven't used any Triple K brand.
I ordered two from S&W on March 3 and have yet to see them. They're backordered and Midway also ordered a bunch. Midway ordered more than S&w so they will get theirs first. Seems odd that a retailer gets priority over the gunmaker the part fits in.

Nothing wrong with the 39-2 I don't think. I've owned three of them, and they all worked like a charm. I don't think any of them have ever jammed. About the same size as a Colt Commander, it carries well.

And looks like a million bucks IMHO.
