I have two J's - a bobbed 637 and a bobbed 337pd.

The 637 trigger is slick and fast. The 337pd trigger seems to have more friction and the pull is slower. It's hard to describe - not necessarliy heavier - just slower.

On both J's, I: (i) polished the rebound slide, (ii) polished the hammer block, (iii) installed a Wolf reduced power hammer spring (stock rebound spring), and (iv) dry fired the pee out of them and I've put about 250 rounds through the 337pd and 400 through the 637.

The 637 trigger is excellent - primo - and I shoot it both faster and better than the 337pd. I shoot with a shot timer, so I know this for a fact. Both have the same grips. Maybe the extra weight of the 637 helps, but I know the better trigger helps.

I cannot figure out the difference between the two triggers.

I know that it's difficult or impossible to diagnose this over the net, but any thoughts appreciated.

Trigger fix

i've been doing action work on snubbys for 16 years now. IMO I think the newer guns are much smoother. the Tie model is lighter and that will contribute to the pull. However there is alot of different tolerences built into the gun to reduce handfitting at the factory. Each gun will feel different some better than others. The most comman problem i see is the cylinder spinning all the way up to lockup about the middle way through the pull. Most can be remidied by gently rounding the trigger on the radius that puches up on the sear.

I think Collin is right. The lighter weight of my 337 makes my 442 trigger pull seem much heavier.
Each has the same spring kit installed.
