Slide not locking back on my 6906

I just put new hogue grips on my 6906 and now when I fire it the slide does not lock back every time I empty my mag.It does not happen every time so I am not sure what the problem is. Could I have messed something up when I put the grips on. Any ideas?

The grips should be well away from the slide stop. Is it doing it with different mags or just one. You could remove the slide put the slide stop in and check how well the mag follower is catching the the stop. Also a slightly weak load might function the gun but yet not move the slide far enough to the rear to engage the stop.

I tried 3 different mags and got the same results, and I never had any problem with this ammo before.

If the new grips moved your grip position, your thumb might be tapping the slide release lever.

THE GRIP HOLDS IN THE SIDEPLATE WHICH APPLIES PRESSURE TO THE SLIDE STOP. PUT THE ORIGINAL GRIPS BACK ON AND TRY IT THAT WAY. IF IT LOCKS THE SLIDE OPEN THAN YOU KNOW THE GRIPS ARE FAULTY. YES I HAVE SEEN NEW PLASTIC GRIPS THAT DON'T WORK PROPERLY. CALL THE MANUFACTURER AND LET THEM KNOW THEY ARE VERY GOOD ABOUT THAT AND WILL REPLACE THE GRIPS RIGHT AWAY. JP
