I stopped in the Johnstown, CO Scheels this morning to see if they had any small pistol primers (spp). They had Federal spp for $70/1,000 and the thinking that was a good price I picked up two bricks. When I checked-out I found out they were on sale for an additional $10.50 per brick so I got two more bricks.

Good day, God is good.

Get 'em while you can; the next serious shortage may be just around the corner. I'd rather pay a few dollars more and have primers than look for $50 primers and have none.

A LGS near me has primers, enough that they are advertising on TV that they have primers. $82/1000. Not a good price but nice to know they are plentiful enough to advertise.

On the CCI website SPP are $53.99 msrp. Small rifle $58.99 then they go up by a bunch for large and BR

If you have a Sportsman's Warehouse near you they have Remington
SPP and LPP for $57.00 per K. Even cheaper if you're a vet .

I'm old enough to remember buying primers from one particular source at $30/5000. (This was back in the '70s, and was a really good price even back then.) NOBODY would expect to see those prices again, but looking at the CPI you'd expect primers to go for around 5-7 times that, or maybe about $30-$40 per thousand if you shop around.

But of course, price increases have greatly outstripped the CPI. The $57/1000 price mentioned earlier in this thread just seems "pricey" rather than "insane."
