Just ordered the Apex AEK trigger and was wondering if anyone knows what size punch is used to remove the plastic trigger from the trigger bar.

The top pin to remove the plastic trigger from the metal trigger bar is 1/16 " or 1.5mm (close anyway). The lower pin to take the plastic safety extension off the trigger is 1.3mm.

Trigger headed pin is 1/8"

Great, thanks! Do you have any experience with this trigger? Curious how it feels and how it improved the feel.

No I'm sorry I've never shot with one. From what I read it sounds like it would be a nice addition for competition, provided it's allowed in the class you shoot.

If you've never taken the trigger system apart on you M&P before here's a link to the armorer's manual, just scroll down to find it.

It can be a little tricky lining up all the holes to put the trigger headed pin back in but I believe the AEK comes with a slave pin to help out with that. Check their videos too. It's not hard but if you've never done it, it can take a few tries.

Maybe you could take some pics and give a range report when you're done. I know I'd be interested.

Will do! I've read what's out there in terms of reviews but nothing I can find is very detailed. I'll be sure to give a detailed report including install, feel, and range results. I am trying to achieve something specific to improve the trigger on my M&P to help me shoot it better. I have already installed the Apex DCAEK kit so installing the AEK should be pretty simple for me, plus like you said, the online videos are really helpful!

Oh hehe. I just replied to a previous post of yours suggesting you try this trigger. I'll tell you what I love about mine (FSS & Trigger kit but triggers are near identical). The stock plastic trigger is rounded at the sides, which is great for ergonomics but I found it hard to feel if I was centered. The Apex trigger is very flat with minimal beveling on the sides. The trigger stop safety bar is really small and unobtrusive yet positive in function. You won't have to worry about it disengaging by itself. When it is pressed flush to the trigger face it actually is flush, unlike a Glock for example. This gives me great tactile feedback letting me know I'm centered and I get a straight press without wobbling to either side. Love my trigger!

However... I can't shoot production in IPSC because it is an external aftermarket part. So I shoot limited. And that means I top off the mags and reload less! Haha I say win/win.

I got the trigger in the mail today after work! Looks like a fun filled night ahead!
