Wood grips are larger than the rubber ones. They go all around the grip, adds to the size. If your hands are above average or large size it should be fine. They are not good for people with smaller hands. The bottom of the grip extends past the frame for a funnel. The magazine must be pushed in with extra force to make sure it is seated since the new models have a mag disconnect er. Other than that it is a great gun with fine looking grips.

With the increasing cost of ammo lately. I purchased a 22-A and added a red/green dot scope. I have been through over 500 rounds and I love mine also
It is very accurate and fun to shoot. Mine performs excellent with the Federal value box from Wal-Mart

I have one that I bought new shortly after they came out. It's quite accurate and the trigger is decent. The grip is definitely on the large size, but they did that so you can remove material and make it fit your hand. I have thought about trimming some off the bottom to make it easier to seat the mag, but I'm only using it for fooling around, so it's not a big deal. Unfortunately, I bought an older Model 41 as a present for my father and that totally spoiled me....needless to say a second very old Model 41 is due any day now;-) R,

I have my old model S&W 41 with both barrels and a scope on the 7" one. I've never had a more accurate .22. Both of my sons have admired it over the years and love to shoot it. Today, for Christmas I went to the local shop and bought two new S&W 22As with consecutive numbers and a brick of ammo each. I can't wait to give them their new toy!
