Smith and Wesson 40M&P Problems

I have two 9mm Smith M&P's and they both have more than a thousand rounds through them without a single failure. Like them much better than the Glock. Great pistols.
I was so impressed with them that I bought a 40 M&P. Handled much better than a Glock 40. However, it gave me a dead trigger. Sent it back and upon return it gave me light strikes. Sent it back and it has given me one light strike in a box of 50. I have not really tested it thoroughly yet.
Has anyone else had these problems with the 40?

Sorry to hear your problems. I have had my 40 for over two years and shot thousands of rounds with no problems. I am sure someone here will be able to help.

Don't loose faith in the M&P. Got to be a logical solution to this problem. First was it new or used when you got it?

I've had my M&P 40 for a little while and have put 300-400 rounds through it with no problems at all. Don't lose faith in the .40 though. When I first got my M&P 9 I was experiencing some light strikes but the more rounds I put through it the fewer failures I got and now it is rock solid. No failures in the last 600+ rounds. As stated earlier, there are a lot of folks here with a lot of experience with the M&P's that will be along to help out.

OK now I see how you got your signature to be so large it is part of your post, now that I have a new M&P40 full size I can make my signature even better by including some description in the post!

well smith and wesson service sucks. just get the wolffe replacement springs for the stryker. they also make a recoil spring too. add the apex kit and now you have a great pistol. i also changed my sights to the heine straight eight. i don't care for the mp's stock but they are a great platform to start with. good luck

My duty gun is an M&P40FS. It's been great in a few thousand rounds. Lemons sneak out of every factory. I also have two M&P40c's. They're also perfect. Don't give up.

It was brand new. Gave a dead trigger sent it back. Gave me light strikes sent it back again. It has given me one light strike in a box of 50 so far. I have not been able to shoot it. I intend on testing it some more.
