The 625-7 Mountain Gun for sure although that is 45 Colt but doesn't have JM. I don't think my 5 inch 625-6 has it either and the -6 and earlier were also made in 4 inch if memory serves (don't have the Standard Catalog with me).

Do the above model guns have a full under lug? The 625 model of 1989 was introduced in a 5 barrel length and shortly after it came out in a 3" & 4"length. In 1992 they dropped the 3" & 4" barrels. Sometime later(?) S&W dropped the 5" barrel and made the 4" barrel length standard because of a rule change in the IDPA rules! They are out there, just not new!

Here's a 625-8 from the Performance Center. It comes with the laminated red, white and blue grips, but I like these better. The pistol shoots great too!

Yes. It's the 625-8, and it looks like a overgrown 686. Helpful?

Added: Oops - mine has JM on it, but it's mostly covered by my Hogues.
I have one like this one without JM on it. Darned good gun. It is one that I qualified with and carried when I was a licensed PI in Kansas.

The 625 Model of 1988 was a 5" gun but it was followed by the Model of 1989 with a 4" barrel due to the rule changed mentioned above. I must admit that my JM ProSeries is an absolutely fantastic shooting gun.

I would think you could grind his name off without screwing up the stainless finish too much

What is the difference having Misters Smith and Wesson names on your other guns?

I have the 625 4" 1989 and it is very accurate. Full moon clips with well.

My 625-8 JM Special is one of-my all time favorite revolvers! You can hardly do better. I shoot nothing but my home cast bullets in mine. It will shoot under an inch at 25 yards off a rest with a variety of loads.

I LOVE IT!!!

Dale53, what is your fave recipe? I shoot mine DAO (no choice). IMG_5181.jpg

Forgot to note earlier that my 625 is a 1988 5" model. Back when SDM Fabricating was still accepting gunsmith work I sent mine to him.
