They allow their names....

The allow their names on knives that are, well IMHO below the quality that is the S&W name for years. Profitability is critical for a company, but not at the cost of messing up your name brand and not at the cost of your people and the environment.

If it brings new buyers to the S&W brand...

If it'll bring new buyers to the S&W brand, it's a good thing.
If the Governor is their first S&W, it may open their eyes to better quality. Then, the Forum members can properly educate the newbies.
(It worked for me!)
