Welcome to the Forum. The American series of S&W knives was introduced in 1981. There were 4 knives withdifferent blade styles, called the "Small Upsweep, Large Upsweep, Light Duty & Heavy Duty" They retailed for $24.95 each. Wholesale was $13.50 Model 6083 was the Light Duty version. The line was phased out in 1983. These knives could be ordered with various customized designs on the blades, such as the ducks on yours. I would estimate current value for a like new knife, with the original sheath & box to be $75 -$100. today.
Hope that helps, Ed.
