Rossco i have been looking for one. I have seen them on gunbroker for $1800 but i cant pay anywhere close to that. Is it the pc 646?

Theyre 2 on gunbroker one was modded (bobbed hammer) and used current bid is about $600 with 7 fays left. The other is like new for $1800 or buy now for $2200..... no takers yet.
Put it on Gunbroker started at $1 and you will find out the true value as the auction goes the distance!

Sell it to deadeye956 and give it a good home. I still think I prefer a 610 over the 646.

There were 161 PC versions made. Haven't heard of any issues.
To be honest I'm not sure if mine is a PC or not. It doesn't say PC on it anywhere, but it did come in the nice metal locking box/case. It has the fiber optic front sight and shoots really well.
I have a 3" 610 which was, prior to the 646, my IDPA gun. The smaller diameter, lighter titanium cylinder in the 646 really makes a difference in cycling the cylinder since there is so much less inertia. Also the L frame fits my hand much better than the N frame. I've had no problems with either revolver.
Bought it new in '03 for $485. Saw one on sale at a LGS for $2550 (had a ramp front site)

They all came in a silver case, the PC ones have the PC logo on the case and the non-PC have the normal S&W logo. But the easy way to tell the difference is the barrel on the PC is a slab side whereas the non-PC has a standard full lug round barrel. The PC also came with rosewood combat grips and the non-PC came with rubber Hogue bantams.

Wouldn't a PC gun have the PC crest on the side flat? The guys and gals that work there are rightfully proud of their work and it's uncommon to see a legit PC gun that's not so marked.
That's what I thought too, but the case threw me off - even though it too just has the S&W crest on it. I have never seen a 646 with a slab sided barrel and I guess I'm glad I have the regular one, if only for the extra weight.
Where'd you find that number? I did a lot of investigating when I bought a non-PC 646 several years ago and everything I found came up 400 PC and 300 non-PC.
Both the PC and non-PC versions could be moonclip sensitive there were two different thicknesses of moonclips because of the variations in different brands of cases.
I never had moon clip issues (er, except that time I tried to load a 610 moon clip in the 646). I do load up all the moon clips I need for a match in advance, just in case. The clips will wear out or bend, usually then not holding the cases securely.

The other side says Performance Center on the barrel and it has the PC insignia where other guns have the S&W emblem. It has the different style PC front sight.
I got it at the local Cabelas a few years ago in their gun library.
Here is the non PC version.

Have an opportunity to purchase a unfired non-PC version 103749 in the case with outer box. I could really use an education so I can determine if I should pick it up. Thanks

The Standard Catalog of Smith&Wesson 3rd Edition states that there were approximately 300 of the non-PC version made.
