Agree with Retired W4. I'd have happily paid $1200 for a nice one when I was looking for one. When they were $800 I passed them up as "too expensive" choosing rather to wait until they were $1350 for one with with box/papers supposedly "as NIB."

I gave $1600 for a S prefix M58 that letters to 1967, three years ago. Unfired, original box and tools and papers. Diamond PC magnas numbered to the gun. Bought it from a guy who inherited it from the original owner, his LE partner. Sat in two safes its entire life. I'd say start at $1500 with yours and not go below $1300 if you bargain. You didn't say if you had the box, etc. with it, increase accordingly if you do.

Mine is not NIB but it is pretty dang clean.

I have the original box and papers. My gun is very clean. No way that I would let it go for less than fifteen bills. Around where I live in Virginia it will go for that much fairly quickly. Just sayin.

Take a look at the closed auctions and you'll find actual sold prices. There close to 20 closed auctions currently showing.

Pop used to say " you can only sell it once". Truer words I could never refute.
Whether you "need" to sell it or "want" to sell it, will influence your decision. Either way, once it's gone,,,,
I was "looking" for a "shooter" M57 or M58. Then this came walking past my friends show table. Original buyer, w/ box & papers. Not exactly "shooter" grade but I could not resist.

I still see the seller at almost every show. He is still wanting to purchase her back. Better to be in my shoes than his.
