Smith & Wesson® Introduces New SD9 VE™ and SD40 VE™ Pistols

The problem is the way the plastic sights attatch mine broke completely off there was literally nothing left on front of the slide

My Sigma has it's original sights on it. I've been using it on the range and for concealed carry (every day) for the past 2 years plus. They're still in great condition. Like I said, I agree that steel is nicer and night sights rock, but I still shoot fine with all of the above. I know you've seen them before, but how about these sights!!!!!! Nothing like a set of "thug" sights!!

Ya but they dropped the front night site and polished the slide? I just expected a little more. Glock is selling the two tone exo so now amith is also!

Glocks are great guns I own a few myself. But one thing frosts me about the Glocks is the cheap crappy sights that come with them. Automatically you have to spend another $120 on a set of good sights.

Glocks have plastic sights. I've never seen nor heard of these failing. Personally, is see no down side with plastic sights. If I was going to get bent over plastic it would be when they start make pistol frames out of it. Oh wait!

There is a down side to their plastic sights, especially if you do any sort of serious training with them, like drawing and shooting from a holster.

Sights are plastic. But, in their defense, they are much more substantial in their build and look to be a form of carbon fiber plastic. Much stronger than just a soft polymer, A la' Glock.
And, looks to be standard M&P size and shape.
I really like the SD VE. I expect S&W to abandon the Sigma in the future. Possibly, but who knows at this point.

Mine are plasitc also, but not cheap by any means.

Glock plastic rear sights rarely fail. Glock plastic front sights break off like plastic tabs on a can of compressed air. I sat down one day to swap out stock plastic sights (with night sights) on a new order of department guns and could actually break some of them off with my thumb.

I looked at one of these this afternoon and while it's a big improvement, the trigger was awful. The pull before let off was the longest I've ever felt plus it was very gritty. On the plus side a novice shooter will never have an accidental discharge with this trigger. The pistol was very comfortable in hand though and for $282 + tax it's a bargain.

282?! Good deal.
Gritty, I'd send it in for adjustment...Long? Like you said, good for HD, SD especially for newcomers. Looks like same grip as my SD, I like it.
