Hi! newbie here. Not sure where to post this thread but could I ask these questions here? Hoping to gather some infos.

Should I store the pistol in its cock or uncock position?
Would dry firing ruin the pistol?
Would usage of high velocity ammo ruin the pistol?

!. Store the gun uncocked, unloaded (unless it is your home self defense firearm)

2. Snap caps are a real good idea. Lots of firearms have no problem with dry firing but it is sometimes hard on the firing pin.

3. No, your 22 A1 can handle any 22 LR round.

Especially that one (22A). I have a buddy that broke the pin the first time he dry fired it.

I have a 22A that I just wipe down, run a bore snake through it a couple of times and put away. Running fine after 2000 rounds.

Hates Winchester Wildcat though.

You got that right! Mine will shoot anything but W wildcat has to be the most inconsistent I have found! Had one just go "POOF" and thought I had a round I was going to have to remove from the barrel...must have just cleared the muzzle!

Just got my hands on a nice 22S today can't wait to put some rounds though it

Sold my 22A-1 about 2 months ago now and the young fellow dry fired it a few times and broke the firing pin the 1st week he had it. I had put around 8000 rounds thru it in the last 18 months and it was fine when I sold it. It liked the Federal ammo the best it seemed.
