Smith-Wesson 27-2 Value

A 3 1/2" 27-2 in that condition is a great but at $ 820 .
I'd say with the right grips $ 1,200 would have been a fair price.
With the wrong grips, it's $ 975 all day long in my book .
I don't know what kind of rocks some people live under, but anybody that thinks you can get a -2 in any barrel length for under $ 500 must be living
in a cave .

I paid $1,500 a few months ago for a 27 3 1/2" 99% with correct box, papers & tools & think I got a great deal. At the price you paid & guns condition you got a very good deal also

And just to give you an idea of how desirable the 3 1/2" 27's are, here is a Pre 27 with definite finish problems that sold for more than what you paid for that nice 27-2 you picked up, Barr1. I know it's a Pre-27 and not a numbered gun, but it's got serious finish problems too.

3 1/2" nickel Pre-27 with definite finish flaws.

mud, a few weeks back I sold a NIB pre 27 with everything. A man came from a couple hours away and paid me $4K for it. That may indeed be an isolated deal, but I think that's where these things are headed.
He was very knowledgeable and had some beautiful King guns with Ropers on them with him. He is about 5 years older than me [70], and a collector of only the best. He won't buy if ANYTHING is not perfect.
So again, if ya'll run across nice 27s for $500, don't leave them and don't go think about it and ask the Forum. BUY IT and show us the pictures.
