Odd happening today. After scrounging for S&W goodies as long as I can remember, once in awhile you meet some interesting people. Many years back an ad in the old GunList magazine for a S&W New Model 3 Stock (New In Box) brought me to the home of the retired owner of Rex Firearms from NYC now then in Florida.
A few days back I was referred to a gent with assorted S&W, non-gun, goodies. I went by to see and buy some odds and ends that included some poker chip sets and about 300 loose poker chips with Dollar Values of $1, $5, $10 & $25.
Then he shows me a S&W Cue stick. He shows (and gifts me) a catalog he said was about 15 years old by Leisure Pursuits Sales & Marketing LLC, Wayne, NJ and says he had owned the company before he sold out a few years back to retire.
This pool cue is a USA made American Heritage type. It is gorgeous and feels nice to hold. I took a gamble and purchased it as his ask price. In fact, after paying for the other items that were pre-negotiated, I had little cash remaining. He trusted me to take it and send him the $ when I got home, which (of course) I did.
I've been collecting S&Ws for over 30 years and have owned S&Ws (before I started collecting) 45 years ago and I've NEVER seen a S&W pool cue.
Don't get me wrong, it is very, very, nice however, it's no Szamboti ...but it is certainly "nice enough".
Who knows more about these ? He emphasized "these" were made in the USA while other made later where imports.
