My dad just recently got a S&W Lemon Squeezer and the serial number is different from what we have seen when looking them up. Could someone please help me. I can email a picture of the number. The serial number is 201 then like a 9 but looks more like a emblem then a 20.

Are you sure the 1st digit is a 2? Looks like a star preceding the number. That means it's been back to the factory for repair or refinish. Then looks like 01?20. What # is on other parts of the gun? All major parts also have the serial # stamped on them. If there's a star or diamond before any of the other #s, those parts were replaced at the factory.

I read that number as 201920, and that should match the numbers on the barrel, latch & cylinder. There are 6 digits centered on the butt. If the first stamping is a star ( indicating a factory repair/refinish) , the six stamped figures would not be centered. The stars were usually stamped after the serial number. Ed.
A better photo would tell the tale.

For $50 you can have S&W give you a letter giving the history, date of Mfg., and where the gun was originally shipped. The letter is a nice piece to accompany the gun, and will usually increase the selling price by at least your $50 outlay.
To verify the number, Look at the other major parts of the gun, they are all numbered to match. You'll need a magnifying glass.
