It varies in proportion to the number of letter requests in the historian's action file. There have been times when I got a letter within three weeks. Other times it has taken nearly three months. There's no predicting.

If someone gets a letter in today's mail, maybe he will post his request date to show you his elapsed time.

Not that it really helps, but I mailed some letter requests about three weeks ago. I guessed at the time that I was looking at a five to six week wait, so I am hoping to hear by the end of the year. But I have no reason to think that is an accurate estimate.

It depends how busy they are, vacations, road trips etc. My guess is most of the time it takes sixty to ninety days, sometimes more sometimes less.

Last ones I did took about forty days...

Unless things have changed, Roy is a one man shop. That being said, there are lots of things which affect the time. Number of requests is right at the top. Roy also does business travel, so if he's on the road, he's not writing letters.
