Smith & Wesson letter

How do I go about procuring a Smith & Wesson letter for my
S&W Regulation Police in .38 S&W? Any idea how log it takes
for one to arrive from the historian?

Go to the Smith & Wesson Collector's Association forum at the bottom of the page. Click on S&WCA Public Area, then click on the Sticky entitled Information About the S&WCA, and you will find a link to the Factory Letter Request Form.

Letters cost $50, and take anywhere from 2 to 3 months, depending on the backlog.

Before you order, be aware that a letter is likely to not contain much information of value beyond the shipping date, to whom the gun was FIRST shipped (most often a distributor/wholesaler), and how it was finished/equipped (barrel length, finish, possibly grip type). Posting a picture and serial number here would net you some additional information and is free.
