I have heard of, but cant find, a "fixed" replacement sight for an original adjustable sight. The originals are a little fragile for some of us. I thought someone produced a non adjustable sight that replaced originals. Am I dreaming or is there such a thing?

Not dreaming, Power Custom offers a fixed rear sight that doesn't require modification of the gun (provided it has the new-style round-front rear sight).
Edit: You may need to change the front sight blade, I don't know. Using their front sight will require modification of the gun.

Thanks CHAD, however the 3 guns we are looking to convert are older. Two 19-3's and a 1950 target. We aren't going to modify our guns, but would like a bolt on ,in original holes, rugged replacement.
I can't help you there, I don't know of any. My guess is the weak point would be the attaching screws - not much to them.

Have you actually broken an adjustable S&W micrometer rear sight? If you drop it, a square corner MIGHT chip off, but those are replaceable with the right tools. I always read how fragile the micrometer click rear sight it, but in 40-plus years, I have never managed to break or even damage one. Relax, and enjoy your revolver. Carry it the right type of holster and don't bang it around, and you will be ok. Many LE agencies used adjustable S&W sights for decades with little to no issues.

I did completely destroy one on a 19 and my friends 19 was damaged so badly that he had to retap the screw holes to a larger size.
Check out Cylinder & Slide. They did make one for some models.
