Looking at my 3rd edition Standard Catalog I see the notation that a .312 smooth combat trigger was standard on the 2-inch guns but most I see have the serrated trigger.
Is the book correct or am I missing something?
While I don't focus on snub 15's I'd doubt that.
It's been years since I traded both mine off but seem to recall they had serrated triggers.
Iirc the snub Combat Masterpiece was introduced in the dash 2 era.
The smooth combat trigger existed but really starts to become more common right around the time the barrel set pin is deleted but thats just from memory.
I just checked all 6 of my 2" Models 15-2, -3 and -4...Only my nickel 15-4 has the smooth trigger...The other 5, both blued and nickel, have the narrow serrated triggers...The nickel 15-4 is on the waiting list to be lettered in the future so I cannot be certain it shipped that way......Ben
Book is wrong. .265” serrated trigger was standard until factory order dated September 1, 1982 made the change to .312” smooth combat trigger. That is why your 15-4 is the only one with the smooth trigger.
