Ray sent me a pic of his new offering and I thought i'd share it with you guys...so here it is....an offset clip on for the J-frame. I have a prototype for my P2000 and it works great.

And here is the auto version....having the clip to the rear really pulls the gun in close and tight....I wore it all day under a t-shirt with no printing (and I don't wear bulky oversized ones)....one caveat: this model is not the finished version as you can tell from the leather....Ray is also researching clip styles to get the best one possible.

As you can see from the pic, my auto has that...but I went straight drop on my Del Fatti since I appendix carry at times....and for me, the butt is small enough to conceal well on the hip without the cant but I guess if you only carry it on your hip, a little cant would be nice.....:)

I also prefer smooth side out...but I want a rearward cant for a cross-draw carry.

I'm sure once Ray is done it'll be of top quality like all of his products. Means more money from my pocket to Ray's.

Comments:

My preferences are-
Rough inside and outside if possible. If not rough inside.
A "J" clip that would loop to the underside of the belt.

With one anchor point, rough out will stay put better and ultimately be more comfortable.

True, but mine has no movement and I think that has to do with the clip fitting snug over the belt....a lot of makers put on oversized clips and that can cause the gun to move around a bit...the clip on my P2000 securely locks onto my belt so it stays put.

Like the design, would like to see "rough out" having worn IWB almost daily since 1977. Would like to see the clip color either black or brown, chrome is kind of a giveaway. I've had Alessi Talons, and they ride up over the belt and come loose. It's embarrassing to get out of a restaurant booth and leave your SP behind.

I've also worn Sparks Summer Specials, with belt loops and I have yet to lose a weapon. I have a couple of Rays holsters and I like his work, and what I can gather he will read these posts. for a 2-2.5" gun a non-cant holster would work, but for bigger heavier weapons a slight cant of 5 to 10 degrees, would be nice.

My .02, it looks good, but I'd want to see a clip or loops that fit my belt. I wear a 1 1/4" gunbelt so all of my holsters have 1 1/4" belt slots. The idea of an offset loop/clip that moves it from the cylinder is key to concealing a revolver. And for a J frame, even a steel framed, it doesn't take a lot to hold it in position. I like that the cylinder is below the top of the belt, with such a short barrel, if it rides any higher it can become unstable.

rkcpa.....I mentioned to Ray that a big problem with clips is they are usually oversized and have too much play on the belt...it would be nice to order a custom clip along with the holster that is sized for your belt.
