A short-haired hound mix is not a fan of the snow. She does her thing and then hides in her doghouse. :)

My dog's almost 3 and hasn't seen snow yet nor swam =/
I live in CA so the snow isn't in my backyard but will have to make the 30 minute trip to the local mountain to fix that!

What a great thread! Thanks for posting these photos!

My dear Golden Retriever, Sam, passed away eight years ago, and I still miss him. He grew up with my sons, and just loved the snow!

I remember the blizzard we got in this area in 1996...when my county plowed out the five-foot drifts in my court, I told them to dump the snow on my lawn in the cul-de-sac...and I then spent the afternoon outside with Sam and the boys, playing and laughing! Somewhere there are 35mm prints of Sam on top of that mountain of snow, looking like the King of the World.

Thanks for bringing back some wonderful memories...

Sorry no pictures but our little 7 week old German Shepard loves the snow. It was as deep as he is tall and he had to jump from spot to spot. By today it has melted down to about 6 inches deep and he didn't want to come in the house.

fanocool - I'm not sure, but in that second picture, I think your dog seems embarrassed by the sweater. :D

Chattanooga Phil, that is not a happy looking pup!

Bullet Bob, he's a Poodle....LOL:D If only our doggies could talk! But yes, your right....now that I think about it he has the same expression as Randy, Ralphie's little brother in "A Christmas Story" after his mom put him in that snowsuit;)

My Siberian Husky loves the snow. If I am shoveling she insists that I throw the snow at her. She jumps in the air and trys to catch it in her mouth. If I am snow blowing she runs and gets right in front of the blower.

Oh she would rather be off the leash chasing a squirrel through the woods like last year. Here she is tail-up ears-flying running wide open headed into the woods after some varmint.... Just don't try to take her LaRue Tactical ball cap.

I know exactly how you feel. We helped our beloved mutt Shovelhead to The Bridge in July '04 and I still grieve for him.:(

We have other dogs but none will ever replace him in my heart.

Only dog people would understand...

As for snow... not here behind the tofu curtain...;)
