Snow report

Upper East TN, we got a little snow, maybe an inch...what we did get was a lot of ice. The last 25 miles coming home from the Knoxville gun show was brutal..

Northeast Mississippi: We're getting light snow flurries and presently 35 degrees F. We will have the coldest temperatures since winter 2024 with lows in the teens and highs in the 30's. If this place gets significant snowfall or ice event, it shuts down. Snow plows are nowhere to ever be seen.

NE Ohio here (but not the dreaded NE Ohio lake effect snowbelt), slightly over an inch, very manageable driving conditions.

I lived in Poland (Youngstown) OH 2004 to 2007. Thankfully, we were out of the lake effect. However, I worked at the airport about 45 minutes due north, and things could be totally different up there in terms of snowfall.

Ohio is a bit strange regarding snow, a few miles can make a big difference.

We get very little here in the metro area of Columbus, Cleveland gets quite a bit as you know. It is actually odd that this storm really hit south of I 70. It is usually more as you go north.

Here in the Tucson, Arizona area we are having an obnoxiously beautiful day. Mostly cloudy, wind gusts up to 7 mph, with an expected high of 70 degrees F.

Being cold natured myself, I sure don't miss cold, wet, snowy weather.
I hate snow!

Praying you all who are affected by this winter storm are safe and warm.

God bless,

East of Dayton in Xenia, (west central OH). Hard to tell how much we got because a lot of drifted snow. I would guess 7-8 inches and it is still snowing & blowing. I just got back in the house from 2 1/2 hours of snow blowing my drive and sidewalks and 4 of my neighbors. My little Troybilt 21in single stage snow blower has paid for itself several times over, since I moved here in 2012. The snow was deceiving with the way it was blowing around but it was actually pretty wet and heavy. 27 degrees here now but it's supposed to be headed down into the single digits for the next 3-5 days.

I hope all you guys are stocked up on everything you need. Be careful not to fall down on the ice. Good luck. It finally stopped raining here in the PNW, had some minor flooding, but all is well at the Rudi Ranch.

Here in NE Kansas we had the third most single day snowfall recorded. We had a quarter inch of freezing rain followed by 14-17 inches of powdery snow. The wind was gusting to 45mph and the temperature bottomed out at 3 degrees. All highways in the Eastern half of the state were closed including I-70 from Hays to Kansas City. It's not supposed to get above freezing for at least a week
.
You cannot Imagine how thankful I am that I am retired. When I was employed I was a power house and boiler operator. When you had weather you went to work or someone stayed at work. 24/7/365

The part that mystifies me is why I-70 seems like such a dividing line ALL THE TIME for these events. I don’t know squat about the weather or the science behind it, but I-70 is not just a convenient line for the TV weatherman to use — it is literally a dividing line for weather systems moving through here.

I don't get it either. We are just about 5 miles north of 70 and we get considerably more snow than say Pickerington which is just south of it. It has been that way for the 30 years I have lived out here. I guess it just is.

I’m 70 miles north of I70. We have been very light on snow for many winters now. Weather here is influenced by Lake Michigan, I am told, but what that has to do with anything is beyond me. Lake Michigan hasn’t moved much, as far as I know. When I was a lad, we had snow, snow, and more snow - clear up through the late 70s. I suppose some weather guru could explain it but I can’t.

We’ve got may 1-2 inches of the stuff hanging around and high temps in the 20s.
