Sweet. I've got its blued steel twin: a snubby, round butt, Model 10. Mine's also a pre-84.

Mine is also a no-dash, but the 1D serial # puts it as 76-77 mfg. I bought the gun new in 77.

one of the best ccw wheelies out there... can be loaded with the 158gr. "fbi" loads and still handle them easily...

My ssn on this gun is D711xxx.It didnt have a number in front of the D.the book shows a -1 change in 1972

That's something I have been looking for for quite some time:
A 64, 64-1 or 64-2 snub with pinned barrel and the S&W trade mark on the cover plate. I have found 64-2's with pinned barrel and trade mark on the left side of the frame and no pinned barrel and trade mark on right side, but not like yours.

Interesting, another 'bumblebee.' Something that cannot be, yet is. As they often say, never say never with S&W. Or perhaps with anyone/anything. The world is not so orderly as we would like it to be. Funny, SCSW shows your serial was not for a 64. Never say never.
I wrote on another thread that perhaps some frames were 'overlooked/misplaced,' hidden behind the soda machine or in a cigar box in the CEO's liquor cabinet... Frames are expensive. 'Get it out the door!' Those serial #s and designations are wrong only as far as we are concerned.
Could be worse. We both have great guns that we treasure and that others covet! Stay safe, partner.
