I think I've made up my mind to limit my handgun calibers to .22lr and 9mm. It seems you can get just about any type of handgun you'd want in 9mm now. Keeping caliber options to a minimum and staking it deep seems like they way to go as we head into the future. I have a little bit of .45 to purge out of the collection and I'll have met my goal.

Only exception might be a true big bore revolver someday.

I refuse to buy a gun that Walmart doesn't have ammo for. I cut down to .308 and.223 for rifles, 12 ga for shotgun. Handgun s are a little more difficult; I can get by with .45, .38/.357, 9mm abd .22's. Somehow I have a couple .45 Colt and .380's are calling again. I admire your fortitude. Joe

I stick to, 22s and 32s, which give me 327mag-32mag-32L-32s, and 22mag-22L-22S. RA kills my hands, and limits my choices.

You know I used to disagree with that, owning various oddball caliber milsurps I'd always just tell myself I could get the ammo online.

But in practice, it can be exceptionally annoying to find you shot your last box, and to also find that every store within reasonable driving distance doesn't stock your ammo. BTDT.

Makes a lot of sense, and

I do about the same but with 22, 9mm, 357/38 and also have a 32-20 that doesn't get shot much although it's a great shooter and I do have some ammo for it. My lack of willpower has managed to stay in these calibers so far.

A much smarter policy would be to not own guns for which factory cartridges are available at any price low enough that an earthling would pay it. That way before shooting you'd have to crack out your bullet molds and go to work. Shooting only factory cartridges deprives you of at least half of our hobby.

I have three 9mils, three .380's, two .45's, two .22's and one 6.5x54.

Guess which one is the hanger?

I haven't shot a 6.5x54 in years! I still have dies. I only have the Dutch shell holder, if you want to load for it some time, we will have to get together! (IF you have one of the other rim configurations -there are one or two more- we can figure something out.)

PM me sometime, and will figure out a way to make this happen. :)

When the winds of gun controls blow, ammo can get very scarce. In that case having a not-so-common cartridge is a plus. .22 ammo was Unobtainium earlier in this decade.

I'm set up to reload any caliber I have.

Hence the "stack it DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP" comment! Enough till the current crisis blows over.

I decided not to buy the Wife a .380 Shield EZ because I don't reload it. Just don't want to add another caliber at this time. I'm hoping they come out with it in 9 mm.

Have a blessed day,

Leon
