So, when is The Walking Dead returning?

I saw probable 30 seconds of WWZ-didnt care for it.

My middle son has the WORST taste in movies and TV-shows. He's into things like "The Office", "30Rock", and "The New Girl." We both do like "Friends" though. When it comes to movies, it's even worse. He likes movies that make you think...I don't want to think. I gave that up when I retired. So, he comes over with WWZ and says "Dad, I have a movie I think YOU will like." So, I felt obligated to watch it with him. He was wrong...I didn't like it...but I didn't tell him that. We don't spend as much time together as we used to do when he was younger (he's 33 now) so that was the point, not the movie.

I feel the sme way when visiting my sister--SHE controls what stations are programs to be seen. One day a few years ago--I was staying with them for a weeks visit. I discovered they had Encore Westerns. My BiL got home first and saw I waswatching The Rifleman. He said my sister wouldnt allow him to watch anything in color-hee got near a full hour of this show before my sis popped in saying something like "oh ---- I got to get out of here before she catches me."

Pity me, I don't have cable so I had to watch reruns of TWD over the years on our network station. They stopped suddenly on our network channel and I caught the balance of season 5 and 13 episodes of season 6 down at my brother in law's two weeks ago in a binge watching extravaganza on Netflix.

To be honest i don't care. I used to like the program but it has way too many commercials. So I started recording them. Then I got tired of fast forwarding through the commercials so I quit watching. You actually only get about 22 to 25 minutes of the show the rest is advertisement.

Amc's gotten VERY bad at the amount of commercials they show. That's mostly why I only watch TURN and TWD and very rarely-some John Wayne or Clint Eastwood movie. They make little money from me.

We "cut the cord" several years ago...only, in our case, we cancelled DirecTV. There is no cable TV service out where we live. We got tired of paying a lot of money every month for a lot of channels we didn't watch, and the endless commercials.

Now, we've discovered a lot of ways to watch TV. We do pay for some services...like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. We've also found a lot of places that stream videos for free, as well as current TV programs...Couchtuner is one. The program is available there about an hour after it airs on the network, and there are no commercials. For some programs, like TWD and Game of Thrones, the demand is so high that it may take a while to be able to watch it, but we stay up late so that's not a big deal to us. We've found that the prime time programs play very well after midnight, with usually no lag or buffering. There are a lot of programs available, with all the seasons.

The one challenge (for my wife) is football...it's hard to watch some games with live streaming, due to the constant buffering. There are subscription services available, but you have to have a provider (like satellite or cable) or there is NFL game pass, but that allows you to view games after they have aired, which my wife doesn't want. She also misses getting local news. At lot of the networks will allow you to watch current programs after they air, usually either later in the day or the next day.

We're getting ready to move to a retirement community (my wife's parents already live there, and they need us to help care for them...they don't want to move into assisted living, yet.) For those who can live independently (like us) they have town home style apartments available, and the price includes all utilities and basic cable...so, my wife can get local news and football, and we'll probably add an NFL subscription so she can watch her fill of football and I can watch something else in the other room. :)

The only reason I have cable, is because they never shut it off when the last tenants moved. The cost is way too high for all the filth they show.
