.....the 2024 ammo shortage that is !
Towards the end of last year and the beginning of this year I would read and hear a great deal about the upcoming shortage.
Well here we are towards the end of June and not only is there a ready supply of most common cartridges but the prices are pretty decent as well .
I'm not complaining mind you , I have been making the most of it and have been getting stocked up on the ammo I use most ... .45 , .357 , .38 , 9mm and 22 LR .
Just in case !

Wait until we're closer to the election, then the annual panic buying will commence, ammo will disappear off store shelves, every classified subforum will be filled with scalpers attempting to sell their ammo at jacked up prices, and forums like this will be have threads in which folks complain about the scalpers who respond by desperately trying to convince themselves that they're not in fact the scum of the earth but rather shrewd businessman who invested wisely then capitalized on the shortage.

So yeah, if you're not already stocked up, then it's probably a good idea to grab a box every here and there before everyone tries to buy ammo all at once come late Summer/early Autumn.

I'm hoping things don't get bad towards the election...again. The main thing I have stocked up with is 22 ammo. And 9mm...but I have more of it than I'll ever shoot. I will reload the other centerfire handgun rounds I'll need . I'm mostly ok with rifle... I have gotten down to 2 or 3 calibers in centerfire rifle with most of what I need already loaded or factory ammo

With the good chance of a successful GOP election this fall, it is doubtful there will be any caution of a shortage in ammo or reloading supplies.

Seeing good supplies of every thing but primers.
And most powders can be found.
Prices are nothing to write home about but at least they are no where near what the gougers were charging.

LGS is well stocked , Academy Sports is limited and out of stock as usual. I don't buy anything from overpriced Cabelas

A lot of "stuff" you read or hear ... usn't the truth ...
Untruth's seem to prevail .
People have agenda's and they don't mind telling it like it isn't !
Keep the large grains of Salt handy to take with what you will read !

It also depends on where you live. But with the Election getting closer you will see more panic buying.

Where you live only applies if you are buying from a brick & mortar store . If you buy on line which I do about 95% of the time it really has no effect.
Also ...thank fully I live in the great state of Pennsylvania where there are no shipping restrictions on ammo ...not yet at anyway !
