Socom m4 stock?

I think that the M4 SOCOM stocks, as produced by ACE, use a proprietary buffer tube and thread into the back of the lower receiver on the M4/AR. I don't think that they will mount to our mil-spec receiver extension tube at all. Here is one that's for sale over on arfcom right now. You can see clearly that it would be incompatible with our rifles.

Which one are you talking about specifically? The LMT Sopmod (called a Crane stock some places) should fit just fine, that's the current too-cool operator stock and the one the SEALs and other units use. Too bad it retails for $150-200 and the civilian community is gobbling them up as fast as possible.

ya the one in the picture its what im talking about i used one on my m4 while in afgan and loved it but i see what your saying you need a real buffer tube not a molded one well damn what is the other one your talking about i have the magpul moe on it now and it works fine i just miss the feel of teh socom stock

This is the LMT Crane stock, it runs $$249. It looks quite similar to a VLTOR IMOD, which runs $95

The big thing with the VLTOR MOD stocks was the seam for the saddle tubes will tug and pull on your beard.

There are airsoft versions of the LMT stock that can be had for under $100, all the way down to $40. I have no idea what the quality of the cheap ones is like however.

I can't speak for the airsoft Crane stocks, but I've been very happy with my airsoft EMOD. I paid $42 dollars for it. I wouldn't mount one on a centerfire rifle, but it works great with the 15-22.
