Sold a Smith, Bought a Smith

Today I bounced around to multiple gun and pawn stores looking to sell my Smith and Wesson 351PD. I got offers from $125 to $300 which I declined. I finally got an offer for $400 and I took it (I bought used in April for $600 with no box or manual while my Pmr30 was in the shop)

I had time to kill so I went to another gun shop and found the below in the case. I always wanted a 22LR revolver and this one seems to fit the bill. This gun store is known for high prices but i think this one slipped through the cracks. I wasn't looking for another Smith and Wesson but it found me. I put down half the cost to put on layaway and have the time to research this impulse purchase.

Yes I am very excited for this one. The price of this gun kind of makes up for $200 loss i took on the 351PD.

I also ran into a Smith and Wesson 317 no dash Ladysmith 22LR with purple case which was marked $500 at a pawn store. Owner said he paid $200 for it. Debated on offering $300 for it.

Well, not always. If your dealer happens to also be a collector and you've done a lot of business there, you may get as good a price as you would elsewhere, sometimes better. A dealer can often get a better price than I can as an individual; just look at the sales prices of the top sellers on GB and compare them to a seller with little or no history.

I've been buying guns from a pawnshop for 30 years, maybe more. The owner collects Smiths, Colts and a few others. He's happy to sell guns on consignment and will often do it for $50 or so regardless of the price of the gun. A number of times he has ended up buying a gun and paying me the consignment price because he decided he just had to have it.

Agree with the statement if you're just walking in cold to a shop. Relationships can make a huge difference.

I fell out of love for this firearm because of cost of ammo and I rarely shot it. I went to a local gun show this weekend and sold all my 22 mag firearms and ammo. I am switching over to 9mm and 22lr for now.

I sold my PMR-30 for $350 and my CMR30 for $475 to dealers. Sold 6 of the keltec magazines for $15 a piece. I sold over 2k of rounds of 22mag for .35 per to dealers.

Only thing I wasnt able to sell was a Speed Beez case for the 351PD that carries the speedloader and organized ammo.

I am done with 22 mag and looking for PC Charger.
