WTS – Nice Model 1878 Double Action 45 Colt Revolver. No rust or pitting with old frosty re-nickel - all edges sharp. Nitrate Blue on screws, hammer, cylinder pin and trigger. Serial Number 25275 manufactured in 1890, so antique with no ffl required. Cylinder is marked 275 and also has a P (proof) stamping. Frame has the Rampant Colt logo and the trigger guard is stamped 45 CAL. Replacement 5 ½" barrel is marked for a Single Action and has the same frosty re-nickel as the frame and a mirror bore. Revolver functions perfectly with smooth action in both DA and SA and shoots cowboy loads and BP loads perfectly. Old unmarked flap holster appears to be original to the gun and in good condition with reinforcement to the fastener hole. 2600 manufactured for all calibers in 1890, with 51,000 total produced from 1878 to 1905.

Revolver functions perfectly with smooth action in both DA and SA and shoots cowboy loads and BP loads perfectly.

I am asking $990 (NEW PRICE $ 890) for the gun. 2012 Standard Catalog of Firearms lists this model in Very Good condition for $3000 and Good condition for $1200. More pictures are available upon request.
