AS I wind down my custom revolver journey I have decided to start letting others enjoy some of the guns I have been fortunate enough to be the caretaker of. One of these guns is an old model Ruger flat top that started life as a 44 magnum. Hamilton Bowen decided to make the gun into a shop sample of what an old model flat op could be converted to so he made it into a 7 1/2" 45 Colt with all his normal touches such as a reworked action, his locking base pin, case coloring by Turnbull and a refit and finished original XR-3 grip frame. I bought the gun from a friend who had purchased it from Hamilton and the gun comes with the original documentation from Hamilton stating the he had built the gun as one of his shop samples.
Once I received the gun I installed a set of Paul Persinger ivories on the grip frame and switched the hammer to one of David Clements bisley spurred hammers that had also been colored by Turnbull. I have the original hammer for the gun as well that can be reinstalled if the buyer prefers the more traditionally look.
The shipped price on the gun is $3600 with the ivories or $3100 without the ivories but with a set of refinished original Ruger XR-3 wood grips. A payment plan of 50% down and the balance within 30 days is perfectly acceptable and US Postal Money orders are the only form of payment that will be accepted.
The first "I will take it" posted and followed by a confirming PM locks the gun down. Note that the gun is listed on one other site as well so the time stamp on any responses dictates the outcome.
Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Robb
