Posting for sale an early M14 stock which used a Garand butt plate before the flip up plate for full auto. Dont see these often. The stock is equipped with all metal and sling mounts. I figured I would post here first before posting on CMP or other forums. The stock is in very nice condition *BUT* it has been bedded. The link below is a recent CMP Forum article chat about these stocks. It has the Govt. P proof mark on the pistol grip but no visible DOD cartouche. The butt plate appears to be re-parkerized but correct. Unmolested and all correct this would be a $400-$500 stock. Im not going to pass it off as such.
What it is - a unique piece of early M14 history and a great stock to put on your M1A and then add the repro selector switch for a package that will impress at the range. Asking $225.00 shipped. All Forum rules apply.

Just a moment...

These are available new commercially made but they don't have the patina or the selector switch cut out. This link also offers a little stock history:
Newly manufactured M14 stock

Edit to add: A Forum member who is familiar with Garands messaged me and said that the bedding looks like what Springfield Armory was doing to National Match M1 stocks in the early 60s. No way to know but another cool factor if so.
